Prescriptions

Repeat prescriptions are only authorised by the doctor if you require medication and you attend for a medication check on a regular basis. Please give or send your request in writing and allow at least 48 hours before collection. You will receive a computerised tear-off slip with each prescription, which can be used for future requests. We can arrange for the prescription to be posted to you if you enclose a stamped addressed envelope, or it can be sent to a local chemist for collection if you wish. Please ask for details.

We do not accept requests for medication over the telephone, as this can lead to mistakes but you can fax a request to 01923 820648 or email it to prescriptions.acre@gp-E86041.nhs.uk

It's very important that only genuine patients are granted internet access. The best way we can ensure this is to issue patients with a Registration Letter, which you can only be obtained in person at your Practice. You cannot create an account without one.

Ordering repeats via EMIS ACCESS that are no longer on your list

If a need an item that is not on repeat list EMIS ACCESS doesn't allow the you to use the message box and ask for the item separately. One way around this is by ticking a repeat item to active the message box and advise us at the end of the message that you do not need that particular item. This way, you can make a request for a medication not on your repeat list. Good examples are: Canesten Cream & pessaries,inhalers, Calpol for your kids etc

Newly registered patients will need to see a doctor first before medication can be prescribed.
